ELBOW OF LIGHT

director: Whitney Baker (46 min, 2010)
ELBOW OF LIGHT is a film on the life, work, and teachings of James Baker Hall, Kentucky's great writer, photographer, and educator.

Having spent the last several years of his life in privacy, in his last season Hall allows us to come close: into his home, his thoughts, and into what he calls his own nighttime mind. Our conversation with Mr. Hall reminds us that art-making has the capacity to transform a life of confusion and fear into one of awareness, expansion, and even joy—a lesson for the artist in everyone.
